Building Contacts
The Contacts screen displays a list of all Building Contacts.
You may use Filter at the top to Search for a contact by name.
Typing part of a contact’s full name will narrow down the list to include partial matches.
Tapping on a contact will display the message thread between you and the contact.
Message Thread
On the Chat screen, tapping on a list item will display the message thread.
A message thread is a list of all messages between you and the contact.
Each message includes:
- The date and time when the message was sent
- The sender’s profile picture
- The message text
- An image (if included by sender as an attachment)
Message, View & Download Full Image
If an image was included with the message, it will appear as part of the message, yet in a smaller size.
Tapping on the image will display the full image.
You may download the image to your device by tapping the download icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
Composing & Sending a Message
To compose a message, type into the input field at the bottom of the screen.
To send the message, tap the send icon at the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Once sent, your message will be added to the message thread on the main area of the screen.
Note: A message cannot be edited or deleted once it is sent!
Sending a File
To send a file (image, video, audio or document), tap on the attach icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Note: the attach icon will only appear if the message input field is blank. The Tenant can only send an image or a message at a time, but not both at the same time.
Tapping the attach icon displays the options available to select an attachment, which include:
- Take Photo – take a photo with your device now
- Choose Photo – browse photos on your device
- Choose Video – browse videos on your device
- Choose Audio – browse audio files on your device
- Choose Document – browse documents on your device
Permissions
The first time you tap on Take Photo, you may be asked to Allow Mondofi to take pictures and record video.
The first time you tap one of the following, you may be asked to Allow Mondofi to access photos and media on your device:
- Choose Photo
- Choose Video
- Choose Audio
- Choose Document
To proceed, please grant the permission(s).
Take a Photo
Tapping Take Photo, will trigger your device’s camera to turn on, allowing you to immediately take a photo.
Take a photo of the subject you wish to send as a message.
Once the photo is taken, you will be asked to confirm whether the image is Ok, or if you wish to Retry.
If you wish to retake the photo, then tap Retry.
Note: tapping Ok will immediately send the photo to the selected contact.
If you wish to use this photo, then tap Ok.
Once the photo is confirmed and sent, it may take some time to be uploaded to the system and received by the recipient.
While in transit, a loading indicator (spinning icon) will appear in front of the photo being sent.
A “sending” message will appear below the photo.
Once it is received by the recipient, you may tap the image to view it as the full image as well.
Once the image has been sent, you may tap the image in the message thread to display the full image.
You may download the photo anytime to your device by tapping the download icon on the top-right corner of the screen.
Attaching a File from your Device
Tapping one of the following will Open your device’s file browser:
- Choose Photo
- Choose Video
- Choose Audio
- Choose Document
Choose Photo
Once you’ve selected a Photo from your device, the Edit Photo screen will display the photo.
Some basic editing tools are available, including:
- Crop – allows you to select a section of the photo to send
- Rotate – allows you to rotate the photo
- Scale – allows you to proportionally reduce or increase the size of the image
Once ready to send the photo, click the icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
To cancel, click the icon in the top-left corner of the screen.
Choose Video
Important: selecting the Video from your device will immediately send it as a message.
Once you’ve selected a Photo from your device, the Edit Photo screen will display the photo.
Choose Audio
Important: selecting the Audio from your device will immediately send it as a message.
Choose Document
Important: selecting the Document from your device will immediately send it as a message.
